Medical professionals recommend the intake of omega 3 fatty acids through the regular consumption of fatty fish twice a week. However, this is not practical for most people. Some people are not particularly fond of fish while others are more concerned about the caloric value of most forms of cooked/fried fish. There is also the concern that fish is one of the foods that is most likely to cause food poisoning as it is easily contaminated and can contain toxic impurities.

Thankfully, there is a way around eating ridiculous quantities of fish on a long-term basis –¬†fish oil¬†supplements. In fact, far from being a way around eating fish, these supplements are actually the recommended way of increasing your omega 3 intake.
